The 13th Photonics China was held for three days from July 24-26, 2021 at Beijing Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center as scheduled. The Expo continues to uphold the high specification and high standard, comprehensively presenting eight major thematic exhibitions, including infrared micro-optical technology and application, laser and intelligent manufacturing, optical communication & optical sensing and Internet of Things, optical & precision optical manufacturing, measurement and control technology and instruments, innovative technology and experimental results, micro-nano manufacturing, and 2021 Beijing International Semiconductor and 5G Application Exhibition. YOEC and its subsidiaries made a wonderful appearance at the Expo with its core products and solutions.

In addition to a series of special optic fiber optical devices and extension products from YOEC, the latest products and solutions from various subsidiaries of YOEC also made a wonderful appearance. In addition to core special optic fiber and optical device products such as a series of new polarization-maintaining optic fibers, special square-core energy transfer optic fibers, special optic fiber preforms, a full series of standard freestanding coils for FOG, a series of fiber coil modules for FOG, multi-segment delay coils for communications, sensitive coils for underwater listening, etc., the subsidiary, Yangtze Optical Chemistry Co., Ltd. (YOCC) exhibited a series of fiber coil heat-curing adhesives, UV curing adhesives, thermal conductive adhesives, special fiber coatings and thermal control materials and other new materials; the subsidiary, Optics Valley Metering & Calibration Co., Ltd. (OVMC) exhibited the customization capability of high-end equipment such as high-speed and high-precision tension control optic fiber coil winding equipment, special fiber rod preparation, etc.; the subsidiary, Yangtze Optical Electronic (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (YOEC (BJ)) exhibited the relevant solutions and products in the field of power sensing such as fluorescent optic fiber temperature online monitoring system, DC valve-controlled optical splitter, high voltage insulated optic fiber cable etc.; the subsidiary, Yangtze Optical System Electronic (Hebei) Co., Ltd. (YOEC (HB)) exhibited the new products such as optical modules for FOG and custom functional optic fiber coils. YOEC and its subsidiaries have formed "5+1 convergence of interests" multidisciplinary R&D platform advantages of special optic fiber and cable, special optical devices, high-end equipment, new materials, optoelectronic systems, and optoelectronic metrology, showing the industry the fruitfulness and bright future of YOEC. During the exhibition, YOEC's booth attracted many industry experts and customers for on-site consultation and communication, and some customers expressed their intention to demand for thermal control materials.

During the Expo, "2021 China (Beijing) High Precision Optic Fiber Sensing Technology and Application Forum and Commemoration of 45th Anniversary of the Invention of Fiber Optic Gyro in China" jointly organized by the Chinese Society for Optical Engineering, Optic Fiber Sensing Technology Expert Working Committee of Chinese Society for Optical Engineering, Beijing Aerospace Control Instruments Institute, Beijing Automation Control Equipment Institute and other units was held at the same time. Professor Zhang Weixu from Beihang University delivered a speech on behalf of the experts in the fiber optic gyro industry in China. The experts in the fiber optic gyro industry gathered together and gave wonderful reports respectively, wishing the present, discussing the future together, and drawing a bright future for the fiber optic gyro industry. Dr. Lian Zhenggang, Chief Technology Officer of YOEC, made a special report on Development and Industrial Supporting Technology of Special Optic Fiber for Fiber Optic Gyro, which showed the overall supporting technology and capability of YOEC for the fiber optic gyroscope industry to the experts.

Another section of the event was the "100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China - Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements in Optical Engineering", and the 2nd World Photonics Conference and the 7th Science and Technology Innovation Award Presentation Ceremony of Chinese Society for Optical Engineering were held at the same time. With the theme of "Self-reliance and Self-improvement in Science and Technology is an Important Tool to Realize the Dream for a Century", the exhibition focused on the frontier of science and technology innovation, served the national strategy of strengthening the country through science and technology, focused on the latest scientific and technological innovation achievements in the field of optical engineering, promoted the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, accurately matched the needs of enterprises, served the transformation and upgrading of local economies, and provided solutions for solving the bottleneck problem. YOEC's "Research and Development of Large-Diameter Profiled Structure Optic Fiber" project won the 7th Chinese Society for Optical Engineering "Science and Technology Innovation Award - Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award".

The year 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the opening year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, in which we embarked on a new journey for the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country. On the occasion of the setting out of the YOEC Preparatory Group for the Expo, the group suddenly encountered a rare flood disaster in the history of Henan.
