Solve the three major power grid problems with a strong faith -- YOEC helps "the asynchronous evolution of the power grid in the Great Bay Area (GBA)”

After 15 months, another major power project in Guangzhou has been launched! On March 29, Guangzhou DC back-to-back project in GBA was put into operation, bringing new strength to the construction of Guangdong's target grid. It is reported that after the completion of a series of key power grid projects marked by this project, it is expected that the power transmission from the west to the east will be no less than 188.3 billion kWh in 2022, and the power exchange capacity of the east and west of Guangdong will be increased from 4.1 million kilowatts to 10 million kilowatts. To assist in the construction of GBA, YOEC has provided high-voltage insulation flame-retardant optical cable components for the construction of the VSC-HVDC converter station of the project, including optoelectronic composite insulators, fiber optical current transformers, time-delay optic fiber coils for current, detection and measurement equipment, energy transmission equipment and special optical cable components used in the high-voltage valve tower, and provided technical services for customers, contributing to the "construction of GBA".

Background of the project

GBA, including Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province, covers a total area of 56000 sq.km. It is one of the regions with the highest degree of openness and the strongest economic vitality in China, and has an important strategic position in the overall development of the country. GBA is also the most concentrated area of power load in South China - the load of Pearl River Delta region accounts for more than 75% of the load in Guangdong Province. Building GBA is not only a new attempt to promote the formation of a new pattern of comprehensive opening up in the new era, but also a new practice to promote the development of the cause of "one country, two systems".

Back-to-back project in GBA is the most advanced new generation of flexible VSC-HVDC back-to-back project in the world. It has achieved a number of world leading technologies such as asynchronous connection, maximum capacity and multi-infeed in DC, zoning interconnection in load centers. After the completion of the series of projects, the three major problems of Guangdong power grid, namely, excessive short circuit current, risk of multiple DC spots and large area power outage, will be fundamentally solved, and the power supply and configuration capacity of Guangdong power grid will be significantly improved.

The main products of YOEC in the project are: time-delay optic fiber coil and special fiber cable assembly.

YOEC time-delay optic fiber coil

The freestanding time-delay optic fiber coil for the fiber optical current transformers provided by YOEC for the electric power application field meets the precise delay requirements of FOCT. Combined with controllable low tension winding, it uses high-birefringence panda polarization-maintaining fiber and wide-temperature range ultraviolet curing glue, and has the technical characteristics of accurate and stable length and excellent full-temperature performance. In Guangzhou DC back-to-back project in GBA, YOEC provided OFSC-160C, OFSC-590C and other models of time-delay optic fiber coils. This series of time-delay optic fiber coil products are produced, tested and delivered by the aerospace quality assurance system. After the application on many projects, it has been proved that the performance is stable under various climatic conditions, and its sensing and transmission functions are reliable and in good application condition.

In addition to the freestanding time-delay optic fiber coils for fiber optical current transformers, YOEC has launched all optic fiber coil products with excellent quality, covering the full range of optical sensing, optical communication and other scenarios, and has formed a full series of optic fiber coil brand product with independent intellectual property rights and strong quality competitiveness, represented by its own optic fiber coil brands such as skeleton optic fiber coil, side optic fiber coil, full optic fiber coil, and special-shaped optic fiber coil, which laid a solid foundation for the application of optical transmission services.

In the Guangzhou DC back-to-back project in the Greater Bay Area, YOEC provides high voltage resistant insulation and flame retardant optical cable components, covering photoelectric composite insulators, fiber optical current transformers, time-delay optic fiber coils for measurement, detection and measurement equipment, energy delivery equipment and special optical cable components used in high voltage valve towers.
